Hawaii’s Farmer’s Market

Hawaii Farmer’s Markets on the Big Island

One of the great joys of life on the Big Island (actually all Hawaiian Islands) is our easy access to fresh, mostly organic produce.  I went to two Farmer’s Markets on Saturday in Waimea on the Big Island and found all of the produce and flowers and orchids I had in mind to have for this week.  I went there on a mission for orchids to stage my home which is on the market for sale, but came away with much more than orchids.  I came away feeling such a part of a community that is so full of love and joy!  Most of the people selling their produce have grown it and/or are part of the family who has grown it.  Everyone is so happy around all of the beautiful flowers, vegetables, fruit, thai food, local style breakfasts,  art, live music, popcorn, crepes and more!  Our Farmer’s Markets are a social gathering of sorts and often times I run into people I have been missing.  The vendors are so friendly and full of love and excitement about being there every Saturday and when you stop to talk to them, they are thrilled that you remember them!   I always walk away feeling full of abundance with my beautiful flowers and produce, but mostly the FRIENDSHIPS!  Wonderful way to start your weekend!
